LCCP combines high-performance logistics and service with innovative tools to offer you a collection, recycle and reuse process that’s modern, efficient and ideally adapted to your consumption volumes. In addition to paying the transportation costs of your used cartridges, Lexmark gives you convenient online access and interactive tools to schedule pick-ups, track returns, order recycling container and more.
Lexmark’s Compliance with Directive 2012/19/EU
As environmentally responsible provider of products and services, Lexmark is committed to follow the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU. This Directive governs the correct disposal of used electronic goods, including many consumable related products with electrical content. In compliance with the Directive, all of Lexmark’s products with electronic content are now labelled per WEEE specifications and comply with European Standard EN50419. Products labelled with the WEEE symbol should be returned to a designated collection point for electrical and electronic equipment recycling, such as through our Lexmark Cartridge Collection Programme.
Lexmark’s Compliance with Directive 2012/19/EUÂ
The WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU concerns the proper disposal of used electronics. The objectives of this Directive are: to preserve, protect and improve the quality of the environment, to protect human health, and to utilise natural resources prudently and rationally. WEEE became European Law in 2003, covering many electronic products; in 2012, WEEE was expanded to include many consumable related products with electrical content. The updated Directive (2012/19/EU) contains several new obligations imposed on producers of electrical and electronic equipment.
Lexmark strives to be an environmentally responsible provider of products and services. We continue to develop products, features and solutions that offer our customers opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of their printing and imaging activities. By incorporating Life Cycle Assessment results in our product design process, we develop sustainable products that combine high standards of performance, efficiency, and environmental stewardship through each stage of their life cycle.
Lexmark is an industry leader in supplies sustainability. Customers who participate in our award-winning Lexmark Cartridge Collection Programme (LCCP)Â return more than 1 out of 3 toner cartridges, which far exceeds industry averages. LCCP follows a zero landfill and incineration policy, ensuring that all the empty cartridges returned from customers are reused or recycled to their greatest environmental benefit.
In compliance with the Directive, Lexmark has launched a communication campaign to educate our employees, partners and customers about WEEE recycling procedures. Each of Lexmark’s products with electronic content 'are now labelled as per WEEE specifications and are in accordance with the European Standard EN50419.
The WEEE symbol is shown below.
Products labelled with the WEEE symbol should not be disposed of with other household waste. Instead, please return these products to a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling.
