Lexmark’s Compliance with Directive 2012/19/EU
The WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU concerns the proper disposal of used electronics. The objectives of this Directive are: to preserve, protect and improve the quality of the environment, to protect human health, and to utilise natural resources prudently and rationally. WEEE became European Law in 2003, covering many electronic products; in 2012, WEEE was expanded to include many consumable related products with electrical content. The updated Directive (2012/19/EU) contains several new obligations imposed on producers of electrical and electronic equipment.

LCCP follows a zero landfill and incineration policy, ensuring that all the empty cartridges returned from customers are reused or recycled to their greatest environmental benefit.
In compliance with the Directive, Lexmark has launched a communication campaign to educate our employees, partners and customers about WEEE recycling procedures. Each of Lexmark’s products with electronic content 'are now labelled as per WEEE specifications and are in accordance with the European Standard EN50419.

Products labelled with the WEEE symbol should not be disposed of with other household waste. Instead, please return these products to a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling.
